The US-made THAAD aerial defense system has been participating in the defense of the State of Israel to intercept hypersonic ballistic missile attacks “from the east.”
On Tuesday afternoon, THAAD warriors alongside Israeli fighters operating the Arrow-3 aerial defense system intercepted a barrage of ballistic missiles fired at Israel from Iran.
The same system was used last week alongside Israel’s Iron Dome aerial defense system to intercept huge chunks of falling shrapnel after an initial interception.
President Donald Trump returned to the US early from the G7 summit in Canada to attend a meeting with his national security team on Tuesday to discuss the Israel-Iran War in the White House situation room.
During the flight back to Washington on Air Force One, Trump told reporters he has no interest in a ‘ceasefire’ between Iran and Israel. He said he is looking for a “real end” to the war with the elimination of Iran’s nuclear development program.
Up to this point, the US has participated solely in defensive operations aimed at protecting Israelis from deadly ballistic missiles fired by Iran and its Yemeni proxies, the Houthis.
