Israelis living near the Dead Sea and in the Negev were awakened early Shabbat morning by the unexpected wail of a Red Alert incoming missile siren.
The warning came at around 7:10 am on Saturday, with residents in Dimona, Arad, Be’er Sheva, the Arava and elsewhere forced to once again grab their sleeping children and race for shelter.
The missile was intercepted by the IDF Aerial Defense Array.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
The failed attack didn’t stop the Ansar Allah (Houthi) terrorist organization from claiming another “successful operation,” however.
“By Allah’s grace and guidance, the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting a sensitive Israeli enemy target in the occupied area of Be’er Sheva using a Dhu al-Fiqar ballistic missile,” a Houthis spokesperson said in a statement shortly after the attack.
“The operation successfully achieved its goal, thanks be to Allah.”
