MDA Paramedic Yissachar Weiss said: “When we arrived at the impact site, we saw extensive destruction on the street that was hit. Injured people began emerging from the rubble. There was a large fire, and many vehicles were in flames. We began gathering the wounded at triage points, and with a large number of ambulances and mobile intensive care units arriving at the scene, we started providing initial medical treatment on-site. MDA teams continued treating the injured until they were transported to hospitals.”

MDA EMT Yoel Rosenthal said: “We saw significant destruction on the street, and many injured people came out to us from the buildings and the rubble. Together with Home Front Command forces, we began rescuing trapped casualties. We used a megaphone to call on additional injured to come to the casualty assembly point, where we provided initial medical care. From there, those needing further treatment were evacuated to hospitals by MDA intensive care units and ambulances. At this stage, MDA teams are present at all locations where there is a likelihood of additional casualties and are ready to receive and treat more wounded.”

MDA Paramedic Dr. Gal Rosen said: “When we arrived at the scene of the rocket strike, we saw massive destruction caused by a missile that had hit near buildings on the street, and there was a fire at the site. Some of the residents were able to evacuate on their own, while others were rescued with the help of firefighters. We set up casualty triage points where we brought everyone who had come out of the buildings and began conducting assessments and providing medical care. A few minutes later, a 4-day-old baby was rescued and brought to me – he was conscious and showed no visible injuries. I immediately performed medical checks to assess his condition, and thankfully, he did not require any medical treatment. We placed him in the ambulance and cared for him for about an hour until his mother was rescued from one of the buildings on the street.”

MDA EMT Alon Weiss said: “This was a rocket strike on a 20-story building, which caused extensive damage to the building itself, the surrounding buildings, and the street. While providing medical care to residents who had evacuated to the front of the building, I saw a woman holding a baby, about a year old, in her arms. I immediately ran to her, took the baby, and helped them reach a safe location. She told me they had been in the safe room when the missile hit the building. Together with an MDA paramedic, we performed medical checks, and fortunately, they did not require medical treatment.”

MDA Paramedic David Suissa said: “While conducting searches in the rubble together with other Home Front Command personnel, we spotted an approximately 80-year-old man who was trapped and unconscious. We assisted in the rescue efforts, but during the medical assessments, we were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.

Senior MDA EMT Meidan Ben Yoash said: “We deployed with a very large force at the entrance to the 20-story building that was hit by the rocket, in order to provide medical care to the residents who were leaving the building — some left on their own, others with the help of the fire department and Home Front Command. A woman coming down from the eighth floor was holding a 5-year-old boy and a one-week-old baby girl in her arms. I took the baby and helped the woman reach the MDA ambulance, where we conducted initial medical checks and evacuated them to the hospital in mild condition.”

At this stage, MDA teams are present at all sites where there is a possibility of additional casualties and are prepared to receive and treat more injured individuals.
